Foraging and Cooking Class with Alexis Nelson

FORAGING WALK AND COOKING CLASS WITH ALEXIS NELSON

$20.00

SATURDAY MAY 25, 10:30- 1:30 PM

Join Alexis Nelson (@blackforager) for a foraging walk around the farm. Attendees will explore the farm's fields and forests, learning to identify and collect a variety of wild edibles and gathering fresh ingredients along the way. Back in our cozy kitchen, we'll combine our foraged treasures with farm-fresh produce to create delicious, seasonal dishes that celebrate the flavors of nature.

Alexis Nikole Nelson is an outdoor educator and (accidental) social media creator. She uses her platform to teach about edible wild plants, and the often overlooked cultural history behind the dishes made with them, with a particular focus on African American and Indigenous foodways. She was the inaugural winner of the James Beard Award for Best Social Media in 2022, and joyfully continues to teach her 5M followers about the natural world around them, with a song or a graph or a laugh.
